Exhibitions Exhibitions
Dumbo Arts Center presents a year-round program of exhibitions each year in its 1300 sq. ft. gallery space. Curators are invited by DAC, or since 2007, are selected through an annual open call process. DAC seeks proposals based on a sound intellectual premise that take an innovative, experimental approach to exhibition making and/or are site responsive.
AOW Artist Opportunity Workshop
Launched in 2005 in response to demand by young artists, the free career advancement workshop involves three days of intensive networking, panels and discussions on resources for artists just embarking on a professional career.

High School Intensive Program (H.I.P.)
This program provides a unique learning opportunity for area high school students interested in art-making, community involvement and arts administration. The program seeks to instill civic pride, encourage creative thinking and problem solving and teach new art-making skills and ideas.

Outer Space
Conceived to expand Dumbo Art Center's use of the public domain in Dumbo, independent of the Festival and throughout the year, Outer Space caters to experienced mid-career artists, providing them with the opportunity to create long duration site-specific solo commissions.

ART UNDER

The D.U.M.B.O. Art Under the Bridge Festival®
From 1997-2009, DAC was the sole producer of the annual Art Under the Bridge Festival, the single largest urban forum for experimental art in the United States, transforming the distinctive waterfront neighborhood into a multi-sensory public art arena. The event attracted over 150,000 visitors each year. In 2010, the Dumbo community was be served by an expanded Festival produced by Two Trees Management and Dalzell Productions.
