Gina Fuentes Walker uses translucent materials in her work to create sculptures and site-specific installations that respond to ambient light and architectural surroundings. Informed by an academic background in anthropology and documentary media, her work has been awarded fellowships and residencies from Smithsonian Institution, Chashama and The Bronx Museum of Arts. She has had solo exhibitions in Massachusetts, North Carolina and Virginia. She is currently a resident artist at Chashama Studio in New York. She is the Founder/CoDirector of artHarlem, a non-profit arts organization dedicated to promoting the work of contemporary Harlem artists.
