Leap Year Benefit - Silent Auction

Katy Alonza Hamer was born in 1977. She is currently working on a series called "Being Seen, NY" , which the submitted artwork is from. The series includes portraits of strangers and friends interlaced with objects. Her goal is to think of ways to interact with her unknown and known subjects during the painting process. What do they do for fun? What kind of furniture do they own? "This imagined narrative allows me to create an environment that may or may not be comfortable, may or may not be real, but will be true. I want to continue telling stories in my paintings and allow the viewer to explore unknown possibilities."
