Kiddie Ride Walking Tour with Jenn Kahn

Join Resident Artist Jenn Kahn on a Walking Tour of the Kiddie Rides of Sunset Park where she will explore the serial iconography of the coin-operated machine, the culture of looking, and what it means to stroll. Pervasive! Uncanny! Mechanical! Come saunter the streets of Sunset Park and revel in a kiddie ride. Neighborhood dim sum to follow.

Artist Conversation: Text, Image, Law
with Sophia Wallace, Nathan Manuel, Risa Puno, and Joanna Montoya.

Moderated by Karl Erickson, Director of Dumbo Arts Center and Caryn Coleman, Art & Law Program Curator

This conversation brings together three artists and a curator from the Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts Art & Law Residency 2012 and 2011 programs to discuss how the Residents respond or interpret constructs of law and power through language and visual cues. Program Curator, Caryn Coleman and Karl Erickson, Executive Director of Dumbo Arts Center (DAC) will present a brief overview of the residency and the exhibition to then moderate a discussion between Nathan Manuel, Sophia Wallace, Risa Puno, and Joanna Montoya are among the participants in Text, Image, Law

Nitehawk Cinema kicks off its new Artist Film Club with a selection of artist videos and films chosen by the Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts 2012 Art & Law Residents. The films and videos inspire or reflect the Residents’ interest in art and law.
